TESSERA

Offline · No account · Unique solutions

The difficulty label should be honest.

Tessera is Sudoku, Killer Sudoku and Nonogram in one Android app. Every board has exactly one solution, and that is proved rather than assumed.

A tier is named after the hardest technique a puzzle actually needs — not by how long a solver took to give up. If a board says Expert, it genuinely requires swordfish or quads.

Coming soon to Google Play.

Three puzzles

One app, five tiers each, all generated on your phone.

Sudoku

9×9 · one solution, provably

Pencil marks, unlimited undo, and hints that name the technique they used.

Killer Sudoku

9×9 · cages, no givens

No given digits at all, as the genre intends. The cages are the whole puzzle.

Nonogram

Picross · 5×5 to 20×20

Drag to paint a run. No board here ever needs a guess.

What the tiers mean

Each one is defined by the hardest technique it requires, which is why an Expert board stays Expert.

Easyneeds singles
Mediumneeds locked candidates, pairs
Hardneeds X-Wing, XY-Wing
Expertneeds swordfish, quads
Masterneeds colouring, chains

Built to be played, not farmed

Hints in three steps

Where to look, which technique applies, and only then the digit. The app knows twenty-two techniques by name.

A Daily Challenge

Three puzzles a day, one of each kind. A perfect month earns a single tile — every day of it, not most.

Tutorials you play

Each one is a real board with the keypad live. Nothing is a video; you play every step.

Genuinely offline

Puzzles are made on your phone and your progress stays there. No account, no sign-in, no sync, no analytics.

Nothing takes over mid-puzzle

Ads appear around play, never across it. A one-time purchase removes them entirely.

It remembers exactly

Close the app mid-board and come back to the same grid, the same clock and the same undo history.
